한경arte필하모닉

한경arte필하모닉은 2015년 '경제와 문화의 가교'라는 기치 아래 한경미디어그룹의 주도로 창단되었다.

초대 음악감독으로는 금난새가 임명되어, 그 이후로 한국을 대표하는 거장급 지휘자들과 협업을 이어왔다. 김대진, 임헌정, 김덕기 등 한국의 클래식 음악계를 이끄는 중견 및 신진 지휘자들과 세계 무대에서 활약하는 여자경, 이병욱, 김광현, 지중배 등 젊은 스타 연주자들과의 협연을 통해, 한경arte필하모닉은 한국을 대표하는 오케스트라로서의 입지를 굳혔다. 

2016년부터는 전국의 문화 소외지역 청소년들에게 고품격 음악을 선사하는 '청소년 문화사랑의 날' 투어를 통해 문화 소양 함양에 기여했으며, 신춘음악회, 가을음악회, 송년음악회, 호국보훈음악회 등 다채로운 정기연주회 프로그램을 통해 관객들과 꾸준히 소통해 왔다. 2018년에는 세계 최고의 실내악단으로 손꼽히는 이무지치와의 합동공연으로 큰 주목을 받았으며, 180인조 시민합창단과 함께 베토벤 교향곡 9번 4악장 '환희의 송가’를 연주하는 등 시민참여형 공연의 성공 사례를 만들어왔다. 2019년에는 오스트리아 티롤 주립극장의 수석지휘자를 역임한 홍석원이 2대 음악감독으로 선임되어 말러의 교향곡 1번 '거인'을 지휘, 음악계의 찬사를 받았다.

2020년, 팬데믹이 전세계를 덮쳤지만 한경arte필하모닉의 빛나는 도전은 결코 멈추지 않았다. 국민배우 이정길과 함께 베토벤의 '에그몬트' 전곡을 온라인 스트리밍으로 선보였으며, 교과서에 실린 클래식 음악의 연주 실황을 녹화하는 '교과서 음악회’로 교육부 장관상을 수상하는 쾌거를 거두었다. 2021년에는 국립오페라단과 전국 순회 오페라를 선보였고, 2022년에는 시즌제 기획공연인 '한국을 이끄는 음악가 시리즈’를 무대에 올렸으며, 한-오스트리아 수교 130주년을 기념하는 발레음악 '코레아의 신부'를 국내 전곡 초연, 큰 성공을 거뒀다.

2023년에는 '한경arte필하모닉 더클래식2023' 시리즈를 포함한 60여회 이상의 정기연주회를 성공적으로 개최하며, 한국 클래식계를 이끄는 중견 및 신진 지휘자들과 함께 다양하고 품격 있는 무대를 관객분들께 선사했다. 또한, 몬테카를로 발레단과의 협업을 통해 10월에 선보인 '로미오와 줄리엣’은 현대무용의 새로운 지평을 열었다고 평가받는다. 연말에는 이승원의 지휘로 베토벤 교향곡 9번 ‘합창’을 연주하며, 관객들에게 깊은 감동과 희망의 메시지를 전달했다. 또한 윌슨 응을 수석 객원지휘자로 임명하였다.

2024년에는 '더클래식 2024' 시리즈를 통해 다니엘 오텐자머, 백건우, 손민수 등 국내외 유명 연주자들과의 협연을 기획하고 또 성황리에 이뤄낸바 있으며, 롯데콘서트홀과 예술의전당 콘서트홀에서 다양한 음악적 색깔과 깊이를 선보일 예정이다. 또한 3월 홍콩아츠페스티벌 초청 및 이탈리아 라 스칼라 발레단과의 협연, 5월 일본 후쿠야마 국제 음악 축제 참여를 통해 국제적으로도 큰 주목을 받고 있다. 4월 10일에 윌슨 응의 지휘와 에스메 콰르텟과의 협연으로 한경arte필하모닉은 첫 교향악축제 무대를 선보였다. 콘서트홀을 가득 메운 관객들의 뜨거운 기립 박수로 화답받으며, 축제에 걸맞는 레퍼토리와 연주를 선보였다는 극찬을 받은 바 있다. 5월에는 카라얀 젊은 지휘자상 첫 한국인 수상의 영예를 안은 신예 윤한결과 호흡을 맞추어 브람스 교향곡 전곡 연주를 이틀에 걸쳐 선보이는 기량을 뽐냈다. 

음악을 통한 감동과 새로운 문화적 경험을 제공하려는 한경arte필하모닉의 꾸준한 혁신과 창의적인 노력은, 한국 클래식 음악계를 선도하는 중요한 역할을 하고 있다.

 

 

Founded in 2015 under the auspices of the Hankyung Media Group, the Hankyung arte Philharmonic made its debut with a clear vision: A Bridge Between Culture and Economy.

With the baton in the hands of Nanse Gum as its inaugural music director, the Hankyung arte Philharmonic quickly made waves. The orchestra gained national recognition for its excellent performances with seasoned conductors such as Heonjeong Lim, Deokgi Kim, and Daejin Kim, and for showcasing the young talents of internationally acclaimed conductors, including Jakyung Yeo, Byungwook Lee, Kwanghyun Kim, and Joongbae Jee.

The orchestra’s commitment transcends the concert hall, resonating throughout the community with their harmonious melodies. Since 2016, the Youth Cultural Love Day tour has been instrumental in nurturing cultural sensibilities among the youth in less-privileged areas. Hankyung arte Philharmonic’s calendar is a tapestry of heartwarming performances, including those celebrating the New Year, Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), Lunar New Year, and honoring veterans. Notable collaborations of 2018 include a joint performance with the renowned I Musici and a heartfelt rendition of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy with a 180-strong citizen choir, showcasing the power of community. The arrival of Seokwon Hong in 2019 as the second music director marked a new epoch with acclaimed performances like Mahler’s Symphony No.1, Titan.

Despite the global sweep of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Hankyung arte Philharmonic never ceased to innovate. The orchestra performed the entirety of Beethoven’s Egmont with actor Lee Junggil via online streaming, and won the Minister of Education Award for its Textbook Concert, which recorded live performances of classical music from textbooks. In 2021, it presented a nationwide opera tour with the National Opera of Korea, and in 2022, staged a seasonal program, the Leading Musicians of Korea Series, and premiered the ballet The Bride of Korea, commemorating the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Austria, to great success.

In 2023, the orchestra successfully held more than 60 regular concerts, including The Classics 2023 series, and presented a diverse and elegant stage with acclaimed conductors leading the Korean classical world. That year also saw the notable addition of Wilson Ng as a guest conductor, bringing fresh perspectives and further enriching the orchestra’s artistic direction. In addition, Romeo and Juliet, presented in October in collaboration with the Monte Carlo Ballet, is considered to have opened new horizons in contemporary dance. In December, the orchestra performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Choral, conducted by Seungwon Lee, and delivered a deeply moving and hopeful message to the audience. At the end of the year, the orchestra also appointed Wilson Ng as its principal guest conductor.

In 2024, the orchestra will present a variety of musical colors and depths at Lotte Concert Hall and Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall through 'The Classics 2024' series, having planned and successfully performed collaborations with renowned domestic and international performers such as Daniel Ottenzamer, Kunwoo Paik, and Minsoo Sohn. This year, the orchestra is garnering significant international attention through invitational participation in the Hong Kong Arts Festival and collaboration with the La Scala Ballet in March, and distinguished engagement in the Fukuyama International Music Festival in Japan in May. On April 10, the Hankyung Arte Philharmonic made its debut at the Korean Orchestra Festival, conducted by Wilson Ng and featuring the Esmé Quartet. The concert was greeted with a standing ovation and received rave reviews for its repertoire and performance. In May, the orchestra will perform all of Brahms's symphonies over two days with Yoon Hankyeol, the first Korean winner of the Karajan Young Conductor Award.

Through their constant innovation and creative endeavors, as Korea’s premier orchestra, the Hankyung arte Philharmonic plays a pivotal role in leading the Korean classical music scene, and their efforts to inspire and provide new cultural experiences through music continue.
